Singer-songwriter Dafydd Owain has won the 2026 Welsh music prize with his second album, Ymarfer Byw. The album claimed the £10,000 award after beating 14 other entries, including releases from Gruff Rhys, Art School Girlfriend and The Royston Club.
Ymarfer Byw was praised for its "musical excellence" and its emotionally charged material. The record had already won Welsh language album of the year in August before taking the broader Welsh music prize.
