Nicolas Ghesquière sent models down the Louvre runway in lightweight silks, chiffons and vented tunics for Louis Vuitton's Paris show, imagining how city life will adapt to a warming world.
The collection reflected this summer's record temperatures. "The world is getting warmer, this definitely had a strong influence," Ghesquière said. The show took place at sunset on an unseasonably warm October evening when Paris registered 24 degrees Celsius.
The designer's vision extended beyond fabric choice. Flying cars hovered above the runway, offering a speculative glimpse of future urban transport in an altered climate. The juxtaposition of high fashion with sci-fi elements and environmental concern marked a departure from typical luxury presentations, anchoring the collection in a specific moment of climate anxiety rather than timeless elegance.
