Artist CJ Reay has created 14 quilts bearing anarchist slogans and calling-to-arms messages, adapting the graphic poster work he produces through his press Black Lodge to felt and applique. Slogans on the tapestries include "May every data centre crumble to dust" and "Tyrants of today will be the compost of tomorrow."

Reay quilted intensively over four months. The work caused him headaches severe enough that he sought an eye test by summer's end. "After four months of doing it, I found myself getting really bad headaches towards the end, so I had an eye test," he says. "I totally ruined my summer."

The quilts have circulated widely on social media.
