Prime Video has released Castle Walls, billed as the first end-to-end AI-generated series on a major streaming platform. The Turkish production studio Ay Yapım created the show using generative video tools. The series consists of two 17-minute episodes set in the 11th century around historic Alamut Castle.
Guardian Culture reviewer describes the show as visually incoherent. The opening images use bold blues, mustard browns and yellows, but human characters appear "like Vaseline-smeared Madame Tussauds creations slowly melting in the sun," according to the review. The castle setting itself is "entirely absent of any real sense of time or place," the review states.
The release follows Elon Musk's AI-powered The Odyssey, a seven-minute production the reviewer calls "synthetic sludge."
