Raye has won the 2026 Mercury Prize for her second studio album, This Music May Contain Hope, a 73-minute record that blends big band jazz, power balladry, funk and other genres.

The award caps what the Guardian describes as a renaissance for the British singer. Raye previously faced a period of struggle, during which she publicly criticised her record label for preventing her from releasing studio material.

The Mercury Prize recognises the best full-length album from artists in the UK and Ireland. Raye's win adds to her recent success at the Brit Awards, where she achieved record-breaking results.
