Carlos Alcaraz grew a moustache after winning the Japan Open for the second consecutive year, fulfilling a bet with his team to sport facial hair on court.
The Spanish tennis star debuted the look at the Shanghai Masters earlier this week, where he lost in straight sets. "I always wanted to step on the court at least once with the moustache," Alcaraz said. His team had agreed in advance that a Japan Open victory would trigger the facial-hair commitment. After his win, they reportedly cheered "¡Bigotes para todos!" or "moustaches for everyone".
Alcaraz joins a growing list of celebrities adopting a refined moustache style. Unlike the bushy Tom Selleck look of decades past, the current trend favours a more groomed aesthetic.
