Joni Mitchell, the Canadian singer-songwriter, has become a US citizen at age 82. She posted footage of her citizenship ceremony on Instagram alongside a photo of herself next to an American flag, captioning it "A journey that began 62 years ago."
Mitchell first moved to the United States in the mid-1960s. She can now vote in US elections, something she had previously said she was unable to do.
